Note that that is a missile-defense system that notably has very little ammo, and therefore wouldn't be terribly useful against aircraft. Plus, you know, KanColle doesn't have any guided missiles to shoot down.

I dunno, 20mm gatling fire accurate enough to incapacitate a missile probably wouldn't need too many hits to cripple an aircraft. Now if we're talking whole squadrons of aircraft in waves, then sure.
Pretty sure those has a heap load of ammo, i just goes through them very very quickly. Burst fire can knock out a whole swat of aircraft and maybe the bombs their dropping on you.
They only have enough ammo for less than a minute of sustained fire, IIRC. (It's an emergency defense, not something meant to make a whole area impervious to missiles.) The ability to actually shoot a missile with a single bullet from the kinds of ranges that they engage in is terrible, so they basically just wildly spray the whole area and roll the dice enough times that they get lucky.
It's also not like the radar guiding the shots is capable of knowing when it's fired enough bullets to actually down a plane, either (likely won't explode as dramatically as a missile, and even then, radar still sees "a metal thing, shoot it!" when it sees an explosion). You could easily expect hundreds of rounds wasted on overkill.
You'd take down the first squadron pretty well, presuming you didn't massively overkill the first one or two planes, but past that, it's deadweight.
If it's a modern plane, CIWS ain't scratching them since the planes will launch their missiles outside CIWS range and then GTFO. Not that they're supposed to anyway; CIWS are for Point Defense, not plane swatting(you want something like Standards for that).
