rename i'll_protect_your_smile!_(love_live!) -> afterschool_school_idol_(love_live!)

Posted under Tags

BUR #9704 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create alias i'll_protect_your_smile!_(love_live!) -> afterschool_school_idol_(love_live!)

Official name of the outfit, according to the costume list in Love Live! School idol festival ALL STARS. "I'll Protect Your Smile!" is one of several unidolized cards that has the outfit, but it isn't the name of the outfit itself.

I don't know if I was supposed to update the wiki before this by the way, so sorry if I did it in the wrong order. I'd have assumed that'd rename the tag itself but it makes sense that it'd need to be approved first. If it is rejected for whatever reason (though if it's the official name I don't see why it should be), I'll edit the wiki name back to what it was before.

It says on the wiki that it's "a costume for Yuuki Setsuna". In this case, if the outfit is exclusive to her, it should be a character tag, something like yuuki setsuna (afterschool school idol)

Love Live still uses the old "costumes as gentags" convention from dolmaster before the gacha dystopia we live in, dunno how wise it would be changing it to character_(skin) considering that Love Live has a mix of song, sub-unit and gacha skin costumes, otherwise we would ending with a mess like Asaka Karin, Asaka Karin (Love U My Friends), Yuuki Setsuna (Love U My Friends) and Asaka Karin (Tentation Bleu) and so on, and that's without taking into account that SIF and SIFAs add new sets of costumes every other week.

I don't know enough on love live!, idolmaster and other multimedia idol projects to give professional advice, but I think if it's a character-exclusive outfit with a given name it works fine as a character_(outfit) tag. For song outfits, especially when multiple characters are sharing the same outfit, just forget about outfit tags and use the song's copyright tag, like how vocaloid works (post #5211981, post #3622744, post #4102028).
Can't help with the others, sorry.

A tag rename automatically moves the wiki, also when doing BURs don't start changing stuff until consensus has been reached.

Reverted the wiki.

I've never had to change a tag before, so it's good to know that's how it works. I'll keep it in mind next time.

It's worth mentioning that a lot of original outfit sets in SIFAS (specifically the ones that debut in events) come in batches of 3, while ones outside of events are unique to the character. Not 100% sure if a set of 3 would be enough to move it to character_(outfit) tags or if it should be kept as its own tag at that point, though I imagine it'd be the latter.

When you say "batches of 3", do you mean "same outfit for three characters" or "three outfits for one character"? I'm not into idol project series so it'd be nice to elaborate, or throw a link. If one character is getting three outfits at once, does each individual outfit have its own name? If three characters get outfits in a pack, are the outfits identical or not?

Same outfit for 3 characters. It's not 100% identical but it's pretty close.

Yeah I'll just go with the status quo for now to avoid opening a giant can of worms.

Also changed the BUR to an alias. Usually for drastic renames like these where the previous name is not ambiguous, we prefer aliases to spare users the difficulty of finding the new tag.
