clenched_hands vs fist

Posted under General

As you may or may not know, clenched_hands also went through some purging process recently (luckily I know who did this time!).

Though there can be at times overlap between the two, overall I think they fit different types of postures and emotions.
clenched_hands specifically tends to have the hands pointing up, down or to the character itself rather than forward.

I could get behind a clenched_hands -> fist implication though, if other people want it.

We might want to clarify the definition of fist as well. I would tag it only when there's some dynamic posture or emphasis involved, but apparently others seem to use it about anywhere, notably on cat_pose.

e: horrible typo.

i would like to include these tags as well: clenched_hand, clenched_fist, and clench.

we might want to have clenched_hand and clenched_hands for one hand and for two hands, respectively.

the term 'clenched fist' seems another name for simply a fist and can be aliased i guess or mass-edit. however, i can see only 2 posts out of 6.

the lone post #971538 under clench seems plain crushing and i intend to remove the former. however, i need to consult you first because the tag seems to be the oldest among them and probably used extensively in the past.

regarding the definition, i find it hard to differentiate as presently, fist is defined as clenched_hand and has an alias of fists.

for clarity, i would suggest:
remove alias fists -> fist
create alias fist -> clenched_hand
create alias fists -> clenched_hands

and optional (after cleaning), probably:
create alias clenched_fist -> clenched_hand
create alias clenched_fists -> clenched_hands

just an opinion.
