Copytags tag groups

Posted under General

Would be rude of me to outright do it without prior discussions, so:

The newly created listings of video games are looking really awkward in the middle of the tag_groups page, given that they don't rely on visual elements.

Rather, it would make more sense to have a distinct section (or even page) for copyrights lists and possibly other things not related with visuals.

for the record, firstly, i admire the level/depth of organization the current tag_groups is. the sheer effort put to it is simply commendable. however some recent groupings i believe are more categorical than visual as mentioned above. from this, it is then logical to create lists of magical girl series, mecha series, slice-of-life, etc.

however, this defeats the purpose of tag groups which is to link related tags that aid taggers and curators. the recent entries in the tag groups would be better if referred to as "lists" than tag groups. thus, maybe a separate page since their nature is categorical. just my two cents.

For one I'm liking the pools listing he undertook. I've wanted to do that too.
Can't say much about the rest but at least, the video games listings are useful in that some title names can be difficult to spell out or remember.

e:↓ that's not really how you were supposed to reply.

Just observing.

I did a lot of things here these days. The first one discussed here, the creation of pages like tag group:fighting games, is one I'm proud of.

Yeah, the page's good. It was already quite well done when I first edited it. It still can be improved, though, since some groups of objects are listed under sections other than "Objects" in tag groups. This small fact has been bugging me and my sense of organization, when I think about it.

Thanks. I love pool group:sex. Maybe its name could be changed to be a little more accurate, though, but it has a simplistic charm.

Personally I'm super against these genre groups, and to a lesser extent the demographic ones. As ghostrigger said this isn't really what they're for, and I'd like to add to that they're all pretty subjective, which will eventually cause a whole mess of pointless contention.

I'm not really against the genre or demographic groups. So long as it's not misinformation, I see no real reason to squash them.

One does wonder exactly how they would be used on Danbooru though where everything is visually based rather than narrative based. Also I do agree that they don't mesh with the visual tag groups and should probably be separated.

Oftentimes I see myself using Google or guesswork to look for the exact spellings of copyright tags. Am I the only one who does that?

The existence of tag group:role-playing games makes it easier for me to know what RPGs are tagged. I love that page, too.

EDIT: I did not separate tag groups into two pages as suggested; but, instead, I edited it to clarify much more the distinction between visual characteristics and everything else.
