While they mentioned the Sword of Hisou, one thing that differs to me is that the Sword of Hisou is clearly different than a regular sword and is quite unique by itself. Besides being very ornate, Miko's sword doesn't strike me as being different than your ordinary sword.
EDIT: It can be considered similar to Yuyuko's...back-fan thing...and Byakuren's scroll. Both are very unique and difficult to mistake for something else, yet they are not tagged because it's just another part of the character's outfit.

The thing is, Miko's sword has a name. There aren't tags for Yuyuko's fan or Byakuren's scroll because there are no names for them. Aside from Sword of Hisou, we do have a Jeweled Branch of Hourai tag don't we?
The sword isn't of Touhou origin, but I'm guessing probably no one but Miko would be seen with it, so the tag is up to whether the others think if the tag could help in tag searches.

Honestly I don't like them being tagged the way they are now. I think someone searching for scrolls must be pissed off to find Byakuren's item everywhere.

I don't think a tag is actually needed, but since the hilt's design is specific I wouldn't mind one either.

The Jeweled Branch is probably the closest comparison I could think of. It's a famous, unique sword different from any other and of a non-Touhou origin. The chances of anyone searching for the sword in particular may be low, but a distinct tag for such an item would still be appreciated.

which kinda much brings us back if we should start tagging Miko's sword as Shichiseiken / Seven Star Sword like Tenshi / Shikieiki. But for all the reading I've done, I can only know Shichiseiken's real but I can't link the sword itself to Miko (since I really don't know Miko's history)
