Looks like a good idea. The popularity of Mirai Nikki most likely means people will be expecting the character instead of the artist when they search murmur.

Yeah, I agree. This is usually what we do with character/artist conflicts.

moved the artist to lee_joong-heon_(murmur). +1 for the alias.

EDIT: the _(murmur) is the site name as required by our policy: name + qualifier. but i'm unaware if the name is uncommon in korea or if a similar artist sharing the same name appears in the future. it's only a safety precaution, but i'll remove it if i'm asked too. thanks.

Qualifiers are for potentially ambiguous artist pseudonyms. An artist's real name is highly unlikely to be ambiguous. Please don't quote policy if you're not actually familiar with said policy.

Full name is preferable and is usually unique, if it's not, add a qualifier after the name.

just like i said, i'm unfamiliar with the status of his name in korea, so i'm unsure of the uniqueness of his name. nothing prohibits me not to use a qualifier.

besides, i presented the suggested tag before making the move and at least one janitor agrees with my choice of tag.

Avoid adding the qualifier "_(artist)" after the artist name, use their site name/circle name as the qualifier instead, e.g. chihiro_(kemonomichi) whereas KEMONOMICHI is the circle of artist Chihiro. This is to make the artist tag truly unique.

what i did, i believe, is within the ambit of db guidelines. if you're extremely unhappy with my choice of tag, you have the power to do so and change it. i'm not going to argue with you. thanks.

Technically being a general noun / verb, both the artist and the character should be qualified. I'll admit it's not a word that is likely to be used as a tag, but you never know.

Don't think there's any use for that. We can just use whispering. The more likely tag conflict to happen would be with the demon Murmur (which her name is based on) and other possible characters named after him, but for now she is the only prominent "Murmur" so I don't think a qualifier is really necessary.

I agree, but the point with avoiding the use of general words for proper nouns is not simply that all real words should all be reserved for active use.

Rather it is also meant to prevent the situation where a less careful tagger might accidentally see a tag in use (say with Danboorup or similar) assume it indicates the general word's meaning, and mistakenly use it under that assumption.

When this happens, tag gets polluted with a post that doesn't belong, and post gets polluted with a tag that doesn't mean what it was thought to mean instead of perhaps another tag that would have.
