Tagging conflict

Posted under General

There's an edit war going on between me and kn8485909 over post #1317232 and post #1317233 (E), and I want to put it here so we can finalize the tags through community consensus.

height_difference: I'm not seeing the difference, unless you mean the three standing girls, but that's utterly pedantic and against the spirit of the tag.

no_panties: The wiki states the tag should be used only when panties are expected to be worn. I'm under the impression that no one wears panties under bike shorts, so the tag usage is wrong.

light_brown_hair: Colors tend to be subjective, but I associate light brown with something like post #1287848. With the posts in question, I consider it to be blonde.

Updated

For height difference, I think there is a visually discernible variation in that the girl being carried is significantly shorter than the girls standing, but you are right, that doesn't fit the spirit of the tag, where there should be an obvious height difference between two people standing.

I agree that this is blonde hair and not light brown hair. If brown hair ranged into this light a color there would be virtually nothing that could be tagged as blonde.

As for no panties, I think it's wrong to say that panties are not to be expected to be worn under bike shorts. I'm not a woman and I don't wear spandex bike shorts, but I'd have thought the opposite, that more often than not underwear would be worn (they are actually meant to be pants rather than the underpants they are frequently seen as in anime). I don't think there would be anything wrong with omitting it, but including it seems perfectly fine too, and I'd probably lean towards including it.

All in all I agree with cleartailcat.

I take it that if you see a character being picked on for being shorter or taller than the others, "height difference" would be the shortest way to describe it. I agree that it's wrong though.

I did some googling of various athletic leggings, spandex sports pants, tri shorts, running tights, etc on wearing underwear with them or not. While there are a lot who argue you're not supposed to, there seems to be some people who do. Some people feel more comfortable with the underwear with them, while others hate how it might wad up or chaff. In the end just seems to be personal preference.

Wikipedia on compression shorts also had stuff written that would suggestion the usage of underwear underneath these kinds of garments: Compression shorts are also popular among female athletes, especially among those who wear skirts or kilts during games. In those situations, athletes wear compression shorts under the skirt so if they fall over and their skirts ride up, their underwear will not be exposed. This is seen particularly in women's lacrosse and field hockey (both being no-contact sports in which players often wear skirts).

As a sidenote, I think "compression_shorts" would be a better name over "bike_shorts." As not all of these are truly bike shorts (which apparently have things like additional padding for riding), and even Amazon puts bike shorts under the category of "compression shorts."
