Tag changing: callum_(pokemom) -> calme_(pokemon)

Posted under General

On that note, the actual English name is Calem, not Callum, so shouldn't the tag be mass edited to Calme, and then an alias made to direct "Calem" to Calme instead of Callum?

Or edit the tag to Calem and then alias that to Calme, the end result is the same.

カルム could also be Karumu, so karumu_(pokemon) as the main tag.

カルム isn't a Japanese name, so we don't need to use the direct romanization of "Karumu", unless that's the official romanization.

We're not limited to one alias. It's possible to alias both callum and calme to calem (or both callum and calem to calme), and that seems appropriate since callum has over 80 posts.

The Kalos region is based on France. It is most likely that Serena's name is based on the French word serène, and カルム's is based on the French word calme since "calm" and "serene" are synonyms.
so +1 to "Calme".

We don't necessarily need an alias for the unofficial name "Callum". I guess it's more convenient since male_protagonist is currently aliased to that.

Well, the point was more that "Callum" is not and never was his name - it was simply an incorrect fan name, so it really has no business being aliased to Calme now that we know it's actually Calem.

It might not be completely necessary, but it's not like aliasing incorrect tags to the correct one hurts anything.

Yeah, the "it" in that context was the incorrect English translation "Callum". "Calme" and "Calem" are the correct JP and ENG names - "Callum" should have been edited to a correct name instead of aliased, and then a Calem -> Calme alias should have been made. It's always possible a Pokemon character named Callum could appear in the future and that unnecessary alias would just cause oddities then.
