Finding all .swfs / search by file extension

Recently I wanted to check how many .swf files aren't actually tagged as flash, but then I realized I don't even know how to find all .swf files. source:*.swf times out, and even if it didn't, it's pretty useless because many swfs don't have source link.

So, is that even possible to do, aside from querying the database directly? If it is not, there are probably not enough use cases to justify the new indexed metatag, but one-time queries for swfs, animated gifs and webms not tagged appropriately seem like something worth doing.

A metatag for file extension has been suggested multiple times before but Albert said it would be too slow, even with an index.

I can do a query on the database dump, but that's a year old so it won't get more recent flashes.
