Well if "anti-air" is being used for "anti-aircraft", then between "anti-aircraft" and "air defense" there isn't really a difference in how the two terms are used, so neither is more accurate. An "anti-aircraft missile system" is the same as saying a "air defense missile system." So in this case an "air defense ship" isn't any different than saying an "anti-aircraft ship".
