Having some problems creating characters

Posted under Tags

Title says it all really. I wanted to create a new character (and you can view my failed attempts at doing so in the tag history box...) And I swear to god I've tried every bloody option on the help pages, tag pages, artist pages, and google to make it work and I've failed.

So let me in here- how do I get into the sekret club?

Tried it just now, char: works fine but not right away. Too busy to actually look through source right now, but I guess it creates a delayed job.

It should work instantly. I tried it and it works. Only thing I can think of is you guys are running into some kind of cache bug.

When I create character tags, I always use "character:" because while it's cumbersome, I know it works. (I actually only use "copy:" for copyrights because it was indicated several years ago.)

The list of prefixes that work are:

general:
gen:

artist:
art:

copyright:
copy:
co:

character:
char:
ch:

Not if it has less than 50 entries.

I haven't been able to check for myself in a while, but help:users is worded such that users can change the type of tags with less than 50 posts, but only Builder+ gets access to the "Fix" button. I don't remember being able to use it when I was a Gold account, but rarely did I come across a situation where I'd need to. Especially since they tend to fix themselves in a day at most.
