Hexagram hair ornament implications

Posted under Tags

Does it really make sense to tag things like post #4333558 as hexagram? You can't even tell it's a hexagram.

The hexagram hair ornament tag is only used by one character, Murasaki Shion from Hololive. This is why I hate tags like this. They sound generic, but in reality they're for hyper-specific accessories only worn by a single character. So we get tags that add very little information or value to the post, but that create weird side effects, like saying that every other Shion post should be tagged hexagram.

I'm going to agree here that the implication is problematic due to how many Murasaki Shion posts get tagged with hexagram hair ornament even when they can't be seen well enough to discern that they are, well, hexagrams. So the suggested implication would cause issues due to how hexagram hair ornament is used now, if those also get tagged by implications.

Speaking of, going through the hexagram_hair_ornament -hololive search... there are two characters (not counting OCs) with hexagram-shaped hair ornaments. Tachibana Karen and Himukai Kogane (dunno who they are though).

And I suppose Negev (Girls Frontline) is tagged with both hexagram and hair_ornament sometimes, for her Star of David styled hairclips, but I think those technically count as neither. Hexagram gets truncated so it's a 'pentagram' (strictly speaking), and it's a hairclip which I don't think current count as hair_ornament because of the "Accessories used to tie or hold the hair together, such as bows or ribbons, are not considered to be hair ornaments. Hair ornaments are strictly decorative" clause on the latter.

It seems like it's more of a cleanup problem then, although I could remove the hexagram implication from the BUR

Given that hairclip implies hair_ornament, I'm gonna say it counts.

Oh. Didn't see the other wiki. Hmm, the note on hair_ornament got hidden away behind all the other implications. Oh well. Wiki probably needs to be rewritten a bit to remove the confusion. Anyway, thanks for mentioning this.

Still, not sure if Negev's hairclips technically count as hexagram though, but I suppose they're kinda close enough, and quite a few people seem to tag them such anyway, so might as well.
