Deprecate toes?

Can we like, do that?
The tag gets added to basically every barefoot image on the whim of the uploader. There's not real any consistency here. For example, post #5817921 is tagged with toes, but the feet aren't even the focus here, she's just barefoot.
And when the feet are the focus, I think foot focus is enough as is. I'd like to deprecate the tag.

The tag pretty much behaves like the hips tag back then (now aliased to hip focus). The tag got added to every image where the character had exposed hips, meaning it was added to every swimsuit image ever and more.

I think this tag is most useful for finding characters wearing open-top footwear, such as sandals. Most of the foot is visible, but barefoot can't be tagged because they're still wearing something on them. There's also utility in searching with it by increasing the chance that the whole foot is in frame, compared to foot out of frame which is severely undertagged.

Overall, it's worth bearing in mind that toes are a fetish for some, albeit one that is less prominent than feet more broadly.

This is a decent compromise in theory, but it'd be a big project to garden. If the issue with toes currently is its inconsistency in tagging, the issue with toes focus could be more prominent.

There's also fingers. Both of these tags, if they stay, should have "focus" added to their names, they're not much use otherwise.

We have toeless footwear as well as sandals, flip-flops, and probably other similar tags, if footwear that doesn't cover the whole foot is something you're looking for. A tag should be for finding what its name says it is, not a roundabout way of finding something else. If there's a need for a tag specifically for finding footwear that doesn't cover the top of the foot, if we don't already have such a tag, then that should be its own tag, not an excuse to keep a tag that's meant for something else and is always going to be misused.

Barefoot pictures sometimes crop out the toes, and same with sandals/flipflops. I can't think of another combination that would return toes if one was looking for them. I personally use the toes tag to filter a sandals search looking for pictures to tag with feet.

There is a legitimate fetish for toe close-ups and carefully drawn pictures of them. The tag does not seem to cover it or is flooded by hundreds of irrelevant posts though. For one this does not seem like a problem created by authentic danbooru tag spamming: there isn't much difference between pixiv posts tagged toes and the ones tagged feet. Any feet sufficiently detailed is going to feature good enough toes after all.

Anyway I think the tag in its current state is best scraped and redone from the ground up
