Alias hk512_(girls'_frontline) -> 512_(girls'_frontline)

BUR #16186 has been rejected.

create alias hk512_(girls'_frontline) -> 512_(girls'_frontline)

Beginning to type 512 gives no relevant tags when inputting in search or the tag box. It took a bit for me to figure out that hk had been appended to the front, so I'd hope to make that process less bothersome on future taggers.
Not to mention, she isn't "HK512" in-game. Not in Index, not in Armory, not in Base Overview- Only IOP Wiki, Matsuda tips, and GFWiki seem to have the "HK" bit on it.

That's because that's how she's called on CN - IOP Wiki typically sides goes with what CN uses, or the closest equivalent to it. same with Matsuda Tips for the most part. GFWiki, being entirely Chinese, obviously would go with that.

As both topic #22974 and topic #23042 have proven, we're following in their approach, as decided all the way back during the big Apostrophe tag update in topic #18673. And additionally, if you were to change HK512, you would also have to change HK21 (HMG21), HK23 (Gr MG23), HK33 (Gr HK33), HK45 (Gr HK45) and HK416 (416), and at that point, you'd be adding the needless Gr from EN that is only there to avoid legal trouble.

All that has shown is the unwillingness to let go of a naming format we should not be using. IOP uses the CN name because they attempt to update the entries as soon as they appear on the CN servers. They also list the names released under the various servers. Matsuda just straight up lists them under their manufacture name.
That 2nd link posted showed 50/50 divide on the naming convention. I want to hear more of argument for keeping it with the CN naming because danbooru isn't a CN website.

You already got the argument: the CN names are the intended names and the EN ones are only the way they are because of 'legal trouble'.

Thats not good argument because those are the official names for the EN server put in by the CN devs themselves.

And Artoria Pendragon (Fate)'s official localized name is Altria (ex. post #3168401), something Nasu insists upon, and yet we have stuck with Artoria because it is more reflective of what her name actually is. Meanwhile, consider the many localized names that exist for JoJo - names such as Sticky Fingers get turned into Zipper Man in all official localizations because they want to avoid getting into legal trouble with the music industry.

Not every localization is created equal, which is why traditionally Danbooru has stuck with what character names are in the native language of its creators.

Why is it a valid name?

Because they are the names officially chosen. Using fan translations are just fine and usually names aren't going to change upon a official release but occasionally they do happen. They're going to be people who come from the official media and as result are going to be familiar with the names from that media.
My anecdote to this is that I play Girls' Frontline and I play it frequently. As a result, I am very familiar with the names used in EN version. Which is partly why I have an issue with using the CN names over the EN names. I ran into problems with M1895 being called Nagant Revolver instead of M1895/Nagant M1895 when I was uploading my first image of her. Before Damien point it out, I had Type 64 ready to be turned into 64 Shiki because I was unaware of 64 Shiki was called Howa Type 64.
Part of this being a problem is because EN names are going unaliased for one reason or another but if there is EN names, we should be using them.

Then you could have just made BURs which alias the EN names to the current tags, per the second BUR in this thread. Those would be both unintrusive and would add additional utility and accessibility.

Why on earth would you assume I would want to do the opposite of what I wanted to achieve? At least for GF, I want CN aliased to EN.

Because it fundamentally achieves the same goal for you in every sense except what the core tag is.

Because having something is better than nothing.
GFL is of Chinese origin. Therefore, Danbooru chooses to utilize the Chinese terms.
Names in Japanese are last name, then first name. So that's how we order names originating from Japanese media.
Braids may not be limited to hair, but this isn't important when your website revolves around foreign character artwork. That's why braid isn't hair braid.

Not what Damian said. Fundamentally, it achieves the same goal.

If it achieves the same goal then aliasing CN to EN shouldn't be an issue. We should not have to stick to the CN names just because that is what is traditionally done. It's not like they are being renamed either, making it still viable for those familiar with the names used by the CN server.
