Tag Alias: milk_tank > gunner-l

Aliasing milk_tank to gunner-l

Reason: Same artist. All the pictures tagged milk_tank also already contain the gunner-l tag, which just seems unnecessarily redundant. Since around ~170 pictures are tagged with only the gunner-l tag, it seems to be the more popular choice as the main entry.

I've mass-edited all the milk_tank posts over to gunner-l. I'm iffy about the alias though; milk_tank sounds like something that we could use as a general tag.

As a note, when suggesting artist aliases, it's important to go with the artist's name, not by what is the most popular tag.

Well, I still personally think the milk_tank tag should still somehow be associated with the artist.

Three reasons:

1.) It's the URL of his website
2.) Name that appears on the banner (http://milktank.sakura.ne.jp/banner.jpg) he expects people to use to link to his site
3.) All of his non-CG set pictures have it as an easily visible watermark in them

With all the above in consideration, especially the 2nd and 3rd reason, it's probably safe to assume that's the name most people know him by. It's also safe to assume because of those reasons that a lot more people search for milk_tank when looking for the artist instead of gunner-l. Removing it outright (as it is now) or making it some sort general tag is probably just going to confuse people.

Just my view on the matter.

Name of site != name of artist. Even on the Milk Tank site, the artist goes by Gunner-L. Thus, there's no good reason to use Milk Tank.

I think Ultima is just saying that we should use milk_tank as an alias.

And he's probably right. If we really really need milk_tank as a different tag down the line, we can deal with it then but it I'll alias it for now.

Sorry, my mistake. For some reason I thought he was saying that milk_tank should stay the main tag, which doesn't really make sense, since he started the thread. I must be stupid today or something.
