Is hard translation or original japanse acceptable?

It is best to upload from online accounts owned by the artist whenever possible. These accounts can be found on art-sharing and social media websites such as Pixiv, Twitter, and DeviantArt. Uploading from third-party websites can be risky because many of them will host art the original artist put behind a paywall. We call these paid rewards and they are not allowed on Danbooru.

We prefer uploads to be in their original language, though English hard-translations can sometimes be approved if the original language version is not available. We use a note system to add translations to posts. This is both so the original text can still be read and users can fix the translations if there are any mistakes. Search for translated, open a post, and place your mouse cursor (or finger if using a mobile device) over the semi-transparent squares over the text to see what I mean.

You can learn more about what is acceptable to upload by reading help:upload rules.

Hard-translated is borderline content, so it's more likely to be deleted. Personally, I don't post and will probably never approve comics from third-party websites, but some do. From a quick search, I think your best bet would be e-hentai, but I don't recommend and it can hurt your upload limit a lot if comics with multiple pages end up deleted.

EDIT: Wrong search query.

I would prefer the one that artists released it online for free though, like on Fantia or Pixiv, especially since almost the entire manga/doujin on Sadpanda is a scan or digital fire of paid doujin, which would technically violate the "paywall" rule on Danbooru.

Original language is preferred, hard-translations are acceptable if the original can't be found anywhere. E-hentai is an okay source if it's not available on the artist's own accounts.

It doesn't technically violate anything. The paid reward ban is on things only available behind a paywall from subcription model sites like patreon/fanbox. This doesn't apply to doujins released through other means, free or otherwise.

Also please note that uploading commercially licensed manga is not allowed. This includes both scans of hardcopy mangas as well as ebook rips. If it’s from a third-party site and you’re not sure if it’s commercially licensed, it’s better not to upload it.
