I feel that it makes sense to organize all of the ink-based traditional media. This has been mentioned before in topic #21476. Most of the pen types are hard to differentiate visually and the default should be pen_(medium) unless a more specific type is identified (tag/artist commentary, visual inspection, art_tools_in_frame). Several other mediums also use ink and are included in these implications. Main problem would be a chain of 3 implications for a metatag if that is undesirable (ie. millipen_(medium) -> pen_(medium) -> ink_(medium) -> traditional_media).

Explanations

1. Pens use ink
2. Color ink is a type of ink
3. Calligraphy brushes are used to apply ink to some sort of paper
4. Prints use (rather thick) ink
5. Markers use ink
6-8. Usually visually ambiguous pen types

Pen-related implications without involving ink

deprecate ink_(medium)

This tag is too much. We don't need four different tags in a nested staircase of implications to say that a picture was drawn using a pen.

Frankly, even having an umbrella for "this was drawn by a pen" that results in three different tags applied to a post seems too much, but I agree that it's pretty much impossible to tell them apart most times. But that begs the question of why we are even keeping them separate at that point. Is there any value in having millipen (medium) vs nib pen (medium) as different tags?

nib_pen_(medium) is the only visually distinct tag from pen_(medium), since some artists use it to vary the line width of a single stroke (post #8135307 hair and jacket). This effect is not limited to nib pens, as any pen or brush capable of drawing a line with varying width can recreate this effect. It probably makes more sense to tag this effect on traditional art than to differentiate between the pen or brush used to achieve it, maybe something like calligraphic_lineart -> traditional_media. Not sure if this effect is worth tagging though, since its more of an illustration technique (varying line weight) tied to certain mediums, including digital art.
