Merge "Characters and Their Own Depictions" pool with Juxtaposition tag

Posted under Tags

it appears the pool is also intended for situations where the picture of the character is not that different from their regular appearance, given the first line of the pool wiki states as follows:

Self-explanatory: Posts with a character and any object (picture, poster, photo, etc) depicting said character.

outside of that, i do agree with turning this pool into a tag or folding it into an already existing one

I do think that the current description of juxtaposition wiki is quite misleading, as it is not always has to be NSFW or sexual. So maybe that could be changed after the merge.

This should be a tag, but it shouldn't all be dumped into juxtaposition. Juxtaposition is about a sharp contrast in depictions, not just any time a character is seen with their own depiction. There's no contrast in something like post #8472998 or post #8606712.

character_and_character_object?
And imply the various character_doll, character_charm, etc into a character_object umbrella tag

EDIT:
topic #30519 for the creation of character_object

evazion's examples are, in-universe, 3d objects (figurines, charms, plushies), yes, but i think it should also apply to objects like photos, posters, televisions displaying the character, and so on... i don't think a tv can be called a character object just because it displays a character

If we go by your definition then all selfies and mirror reflections would fall under this tag. That's a pointlessly broad definition.

I'm going by the wiki definition. Of course, common sense is needed to decide which should belong to the tag/pool. So mirror reflection is definitely out.

Perhaps that's a bad example. My understanding is:
meta - Hoshino Ichika playing project diva
characters and own depictions - Kiritani Haruka chilling out on the street in casual clothes while a TV broadcasts one of her idol performances

Yeah, that's what the tag/pool is supposed to be about, again, according to the wiki. Another example is when a character looking at her own wanted poster. That fits the tag while also not meta.

If we want to further narrow down the definition. I'd suggest that the depiction must not be directly/visibly created by the character in the post. So that would also rule out selfie.
