How do I get the parent/child images to appear in the sequence I want?

Posted under General

This is my first forum post, I hope I'm not breaking any rules. I just uploaded some images (this is the first one 8857180), which are a comic sequence, I was going to put them all as part of a parent image, the first linked image appeared in order, however from the second one onwards, it appeared in disarray. I thought it was a question of the order in which I linked the images, but the result is the same. They appear in disarray

So I'm coming to you, to know how to do the linking, and the list of images appear in order. Thank you very much

Parenting is typically used if it’s only a few posts. Pools tend to be used more often for larger series. However, pools are fine for smaller series if they’re posted out of order.

Edit: Was responded to while I changed the wording.

While it's obviously silly for 2 posts, for 3 or more posts pools aren't really wrong even if they are posted in order. It's just usually more of a hassle.

To clarify, the order of children in parent/child relations uses the uploaded order. If you upload them out of order, then the children will be out of order, and you'll need to make a pool to put them in the correct sequence.

Does that suggest that it would be a worthwhile exercise to convert any series of 3 or more images connected to a parent post to a pool? Possibly more so if you have both a series and variations of a post (sketch/coloured/higher resolution/...) attached via parents? i.e. the parent posts go in the pool.

Worthwhile - no not really. Technically correct but pools suck to browse so for short comics parenting is easier for both the uploader and the viewer.
