Alias Battlecruiser to Battleship (Again)

Look at this, post #8116182 is the image of a battleship, while post #8193662 is the image of a battlecruiser.

See any difference besides minor details? There are none.

Basically, battlecruiser is an arbitrary classification of a battleship with less armor in exchange for fast top speed, which is phased out as soon as the concept of "fast battleship" become a thing. In addition, battlecruisers are visually indistinct for normal onlookers, similar to how the current definition and usage of tank tag is for "any tank-like vehicle". Therefore I propose, again to merge the two tags together into one.

We've been through this song and dance before. Nothing has changed since. forum #296774.

Additionally, tank is a good example for the opposite. We distinguish between at least tanks, turretless tanks, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled artillery, and tank destroyers. To the average onlooker, just like the 923849872394 AK variants mentioned in the previous thread, these too can all look very similar. Yet we still distinguish them.

You lost me there. All classifications are arbitrary if you ignore enough of the differences.

Not to mention, the definition of "battlecruiser" depends heavily on which Navy we're asking. A Royal Navy definition would alias to "battleship", but a US Navy definition would alias to "cruiser".

This is an argument that is literally older than all of us.
