Flame-Tipped Tail Implication

BUR #39865 has been rejected.

create implication flame-tipped_tail -> fire

Personally, I do think tail should be implied, as the wiki says to only use it on animal posts if "there's something special or noteworthy about the tail," and I'd say a tail being on fire is noteworthy enough. Still, I figured I might as well include this as an option.

I disagree with the tail implication because I don't think posts of charmander or other non-humanoid creatures should be tagged with tail since that tag is for kemonomimi and monster girls.

Agree with the fire implication.

Maybe a better solution here would to just make a more specific tag for tails on monster girls / kemonomimi and have the regular tail tag as more of a catch all for animals and anything else too. Just saying as someone who's been uploading a bunch of posts lately that feature animals - had I not been proactive and read the wiki, I never would have assumed I couldn't use the tag "tail" when like, I have a tiger in the pic that literally has a tail, lol.

(I get this booru is very geared towards anime boys/gals and such and is less geared towards artsy/sfw/non humanoid stuff but it would just be v v v nice if there were a couple changes with some tags like this, esp tags like "tail" where you could maybe make the argument that the name itself is too general to only gate it to one thing)

The problem is that a search for "cat" is a search for "tail" you are always expected to see one on the animal so it's a pointless and redundant tag and I can't see why you would ever search for an animal by a "tail" search. It also makes it that much harder to actually filter for catgirls since you'll have images of a girl petting one come up in a search of 1girl + tail.

As zetsubou said, including tail on images of real-world animals would be like tagging almost every image on this site with hair, eyebrows, bangs, arms, and legs. Which is why we instead tag distinct features like v-shaped eyebrows and parted bangs, or their notable absence like no eyebrows and amputee. It's just not that helpful for searching to do so otherwise.

I get that, bur not all real world animals have tails either. Theres also a lot of pics where an animal is shown but no tail is. Theres also examples where the animal is more of a creature/isnt a real world animal but still has a tail.

Not really something I care this much about tbh, but I just don't know if I can agree this logic of it being useless bc it would be synonymous to tagging every animal is true. At very least, wouldn't your own argument be in favor then for having more specific tags for humanoid tails since the tag tail is so generic/not specific?

You mean like cat tail, dog tail, dragon tail, demon tail, etc?

Yes but one for humanoids with a tail

Theres also this weird in between state of not quite animal or creature, maybe more of a furry level (although not always as anthro as what most furries are at times either) that is hard to judge what kind of treatment it gets too. Like for ex, what would this be? post #9071655 Is it humanoid enough to warrant the tail tag? I mean its clearly an animal, but its not what I'd call a real life version of the animal, so idk.

Then you also have the two tails tag which in the wiki goes on to talk about not only human type situations with two tails but also mentions creatures like pokemon or the in between furry/animal type of example by mentioning sonic.
https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts?tags=two_tails So that leaves me even more slightly baffled because this doesn't seem to follow a logical convention

I'm not trying to argue/debate - I'm just saying the current system is confusing, doesn't really seem intuitive, and could probably have a better solution, das all.

Some other tags like tail wagging and prehensile tail already implies it so it's kinda a lost cause.

That's the main issue for me. All (or most) of our tail tags already imply tail, despite also applying to other creatures that always have them, like nekomata. If we stay on the topic of Pokemon, see multiple tails as an example: tail (vulpix or ninetails).

Curiously, it seems that a significant amount of these flame-tipped tail posts are already being tagged as tail even when there's no human in the picture: the search for flame-tipped_tail pokemon tail has 400ish results as of this post (compared to the 2.2k total).

The tail tag mentions that this tag can be used when the tail's noteworthy, and I'd consider a burning tail to be just as noteworthy as having two tails. And in the context of tail's size (close to a million posts), it probably doesn't matter if we end up with a couple hundred pictures of Charmander in a small corner.
humanoid with tail & similar ideas are a non-starter when 99.99% of tail is already exactly that.
