I don't think there's a reason why this wouldn't be the case? Not implying to ear piercing because of animal ear piercings. I understand this failed for nipple chain back in topic #25334 (even though the wiki still explicitly refers to nipple piercings specifically), but I can't think of an outlier for this case off the top of my head. But also it's midnight and I need to go to bed.
Worst case scenario there's documentation for people in the future who wish to attempt something similar and maybe dissuade them from it, if anyone has a good counterargument.
