BUR #40364 has been rejected.
create implication winter_soldier -> bucky_barnes
Bucky Barnes is the Winter Soldier.

Treat the superhero name like a costume chartag for when the character is in costume, while the base chartag is their civilian name. I'll use this thread for anymore cases I find.
Um, is this necessary, mate? Don't you think you're over-complicating things? It's kinda pointless to do stuff like this.

To be fair, the Winter Soldier depicted in posts isn’t always Bucky Barnes. Check out winter_soldier -bucky_barnes.

We don't implicate superhero personas to their civilian identities in most cases.
Has it even been suggested before for it to be established that "we don't do that in most cases"? This isn't even most cases, that's why I didn't make the BUR about someone like iron man, or any hero who covers their face or relies on a secret identity or has multiple characters who take on the superhero identity at various points. No one responded to the thread yet so I didn't see a need yet to elaborate on complicated cases where it shouldn't apply.
On a case-by-case basis, if you look at something like omni-man -nolan_grayson those all still look like nolan grayson to me, along with plenty already being tagged both omni-man nolan_grayson. I figured there'd be more characters this could possibly apply to if just this first single one got a positive response.

Gaslighting.

There is a problem. Take a look at omni-man_(cosplay). Four posts might seem nothing, but cosplay tags automatically add the cosplayed character tag to the posts (in this case, Omni-Man).
This BUR would add the Nolan Grayson tag even to posts where Nolan isn’t present, yet someone cosplaying Omni-Man is. And you can’t remove the Omni-Man character tag from those few instances because of how cosplay tags work.
Of course, you can manually add the Nolan tag to the posts that depict him. But not implicate him wherever the Omni-Man tag is applied.

Why is this a problem? They all seem to be cosplaying Nolan Grayson as Omni-man. I'm not familiar with the show but this seems like a case where "Omni-man" should be treated more like a costume tag then a separate character.

Costume tag, so… the superhero. Nolan is the civilian alias, so him as Nolan Grayson and not necessarily Omni-Man. Unless you want to treat cosplayers as Nolan too. Then everyone, regardless of who they are, would be Nolan Grayson?
These superheros have the same problem tagging magical girls tends to run into, where the superhero persona is often viewed differently from the main civilian behind the mask. The reason why Sailor Moon doesn't implicate Tsukino Usagi is because otherwise the civilian tag would be drowned out by cosplay like post #9166631. While these tags are, indeed, much smaller than those tags, I have no trouble believing the sort of chaos these implications could cause for searching for Nolan Grayson were Omni-Man to ever explode in popularity for whatever reason. Hell, I can see that happening with Bucky Barnes with just the right uploader sometime in the future.
That is the dilemma I think the downvoters especially realize. And that's why I personally cannot in good heart support these BURs, knowing the sort of trouble these implications could bring.
These discussions always bring me back to topic #13004.
