I've been using the invisible floor tag willy-nilly on simple background posts and honestly I'm not sure if it's just redundant or not, a lot of posts with simple background + floating give the same results and the presence of a cast shadow doesn't seem to make a difference in tagging with this tag.
Also tags like invisible table, invisible wall and invisible object have similar issues where they are used inconsistently or could be tagged with something else instead.
BUR #41252 has been rejected.
create alias invisible_floor -> invisible_surface
create alias invisible_table -> invisible_surface
create alias invisible_wall -> invisible_surface
Invisible object can probably checked instead for wrong uses of the tag.
These aliases don't make much sense if invisible_chair is going to stay separate and have 17k posts. I think it's fine to leave them alone.
The bulk update request #41252 (forum #356252) has been rejected by @nonamethanks.
in my mind invisible floor is meant to be for posts where you can tell that there is a floor that's invisible, either to the viewer or to everyone, not just any simple_background ~sitting ~standing ~lying full_body post. after all, you could just as well argue that the floor in those posts is a fully opaque one that's simply blending in with the background.

going back to this because i see a wiki was written for invisible floor that explicitly assumes the tag is for simple background posts. i disagree with this being the tag's intended use for aforementioned reasons, but, well, i'm not just going to rewrite it and garden the tag now without a consensus. so now i'm curious to see what others think.

Yeah my main problem was specifically the way people were using them, i liked your examples for invisible floor and think it would be easy to garden, for invisible table there are some cases where its cropped torso + straight-on and the character could just be lying for all we know so i dunno if it should be more obvious its a table by being food on top or like in post #6386963 or post #6846929 as for invisible wall you have stuff that could just be tagged encasement or against glass.
