boar/fox/etc girl/boy under umbrella tag

BUR #41332 has been rejected.

I'm honestly suprised this hasn't been done years ago, so if there's some big issue I missed about it please let me know.

Since the different harpy girl/boy, demon girl/boy, etc have the monster girl/boy as an umbrella tag why doesen't the quadrillion versions of animal girl/boy?

Note that this will need a clean up afterwards due to the sheer amount of furry characters tagged under these. But that is a lot more feasible under animal_boy or animal_girl Than under each of these tags individually. Bur split in two because of sheer length.

I left out slug/snail because bug girl has been aliased to arthropod girl and snails are not arthropods, so I don't know if people want to rename that to bug (I think the best option) or have snail/slug go straight to the animal implication. We could also make a gastropod tag which would solve this, but I doubt we could get danbooru to agree given people didn't like the gastropod tag.

Also left out octopus due to wiki stating they have been aliased to scylla but only the female version?

imply dinosaur_girl -> animal_girl as dinosaurs are sometimes tagged differently than extant animals on here so might need a seperate bur for people to decide on that.

Assuming the above goes through as this is also dependent on the animal girl deprcation being removed.

I don't see the value in this when animal ears + 1girl will accomplish largely the same thing save for a few horned girls.

As for the monster girl comparison, while the tag isn't perfect, mermaids flood it, it also covers a lot of things we otherwise don't have a tag for. If monster_girl didn't exist post #9193472 and post #8425593 don't have a more specific name I can slap on to replace it with.

Quite a lot of these don't have ears (eg, birds, snakes, whales, bugs) and a lot don't have tails/or the tail isn't in the picture. So you have a 100+ different tags of the same trope, and no way to search for it. For instance right now there's no easy way to find post #9154376 and post #9310438 in the same search. And that's with both being boys so not having to include the gril version.

You first need to convince people to actually tag fox_girl on fox_ears and fox_tail images.

(parrot_girl parrot_boy or bird_boy or bird_girl or chicken_boy or chicken_girl or arthropod_girl or arthropod_boy) -*_ears -tail has over 9k posts that wouldn't be caught in the above. And that's just a few earless animals.

Cat girl isn't even the biggest one, that's horse girl. And even then:

Horse girl - 131 k
Cat girl - 103 k
Fox girl - 87 k
And so on.

The real question is why would anyone be searching for bee, parrot, chicken, and whale girls in the same search and why would they use this umbrella tag flooded with horses and cats instead of the more accurate search you just provided?

Unlike monster girl it just seems like there is always a more specific way of getting the desired animal.

You're not considering the consequences this would have. The *_girl/*_boy tags currently follow no guideline other than "has animal ears or tail of the chosen animal". Look at the size of those two tags. You're asking to populate what could possibly end up to be a tag in the millions of posts, with no clear benefit. You really did not put any thought into this.

Don't get me wrong, I 100% want the subcatagories for things like bird and arthropod. But if you wanted to search for mammals or all animal girl/boys it would still be a lot easier to do animal_girl -horse_girl -cat_girl -fox_girl than all the permutations, unless subcatagories made it possble to do animal_ears or bird_girl or arthropd_girl or cetecean_girl or fish_girl and whatever I might be forgetting here, but that also requires a lot of subcatagories, some which will likely be more controversial than others. The real issue is for anyone who wants to look at animal girls in general and include stuff that may or may not have ears.

Ah because it would basically become animal ears 2.0? Fair point. I think I overestimated how many animal girls/boys were animals without big mammalian ears.

These can apply to harpies, which aren't tagged with bird girl/bird boy. See forum #190111, where one of these was removed.
