Why not use toon physics, a much more recognisable and widely-used term?

I'm for both. This subject is niche on danbooru but still deserves searchability.

Anything to move it away from "Looney Tunes", really. And onto a slightly more generic name. Which is why I’m currently upvoting both BURs.

Though I think it’s worth mentioning that toon physics would have the advantage of being similar to toon (style), to which cartoon is aliased.

Anyways, this is one of those "huh, did we really not have a tag for that?" things... I'm sure Pinkie Pie has a decent handful of applicable posts.

I dont mind toon_physics, but just throwing out there that I do think toon_slapstick might actually be the best tag if you want to get more particular.

Wikipedia defines it as: "Slapstick is a style of humor involving exaggerated physical activity that exceeds the boundaries of normal physical comedy. Slapstick may involve both intentional violence and violence by mishap, often resulting from inept use of props such as saws and ladders."

So I feel like toon_slapstick hits on the EXACT situations you'd want to use the tag for, since the toon aspect implies an even more extreme version of regular slapstick imo (which is basically exactly what this is)

There are several posts currently with that tag that are not violent in any way.

I think this is probably the most accurate thing to call them. All of these are basically common things that pop up in various cartoons, so calling them tropes would be appropriate imo. The alliteration is just a nice bonus.

I think having toon_physics and toon_slapstick as utility aliases are useful but I think cartoon_nonsense is more encompassing and should be the main tag.

I think Looney Tunes shenanigans is a bad tag name because it's in more than just Looney Tunes. Cartoon_physics or cartoon_logic would be my preference since I've heard both in reference to this concept.

cartoon logic is the most sensible option here because it's not always about physics. For example post #7960163 is definitely cartoon logic but doesn't have anything to do with physics. Another example that comes to mind is scooby doo chases.
