Changing type of an existing tag

For example, there's an OC of timbougami that was tagged as mushroom_girl_(timbougami). Which is a general tag. Is there a way to change type of existing tag? Or should one just create a new char:tag and mass edit all pictures?

? symbol next to the tag > tag history (left side, below recent changes) > edit (next to "posts" at the top) > change category and submit.

Alternatively, put char: in front of the tag in the tag editing box and it will do that.

huh, didn't know that worked for existing tags with multiple posts. nice.

It depends on how many posts it has. I forget what the exact cutoff is but less than 10 is usually fine for anyone to change iirc.

help:users says 50 for members, 1000 for builder+.

Wow, that's not very intuitive. Even with provided instruction, I had to go back and check couple of time. Thank you.

Do you mean while editing post?

I do. If the tag doesn't exist, you can do that as well and it will create the tag in that category. Also works with copyrights copy: and meta tags meta:.

That's a little more intuitive. I thought it just creates a new tag in that category and you have to manually tag all posts.
