Laimu_(Vtuber) - Vinesauce copyright tag

Posted under Tags

it seems that any art for Laimu is getting tag as Vinesauce for copyright despite being an independent vtuber, which should be tagged as indie virtual youtuber
The wiki entry for her also claims she is part of Vinesauce which has not been a collective group in well over a decade and even at the time wasnt an official entity that claimed copyright over anyone, any for streamers who streamed on the old Vinesauce site are independent creators, the Vinesauce brand soley belongs to Vinny. Laimu or any other streamer of that group such as Imakuni (who is also an indie vtuber these days) are therefor only tagged as Vinesauce on very outdated and missguided information

Independent vtubers can be parts of groups and the independent vtuber page says it's for those who aren't part of other groups. It's a loose collective, not like a vtuber agency where there are official signed members.

Making the Vinesauce copyright tag only for Vinny would be really dumb.

Laimu is still listed as "current streamers" here and I have yet to find any evidence to her not being associated with the (informal) group.

I'm not necessarily against giving Laimu an additional Indie Virtual YouTuber copytag (though I do think the wiki of that tag says that it doesn't include streamers associated with groups) but removing her entirely from a group she's associated with is silly.

Vinesauce is no longer a group channel, but people still refer to the group of streamers associated with Vinny and the branding as "Vinesauce". To say that Danbooru, where tags exist for searching purposes, should only include Vinny in the Vinesauce tag because he's who streams on the Vinesauce channel now is uselessly pedantic.

The last time this issue was raised, it was pointed out that, prior to Twitter paywalling its API, Laimu was still using the Vinesauce Twitter account, and the Twitter account was still linking to her streams for a few months after. Like, her 2.0 debut was advertised on the old Vinesauce website.

Taking Joel into account, this clearly suggests that Vinesauce, even if it isn't a formal streaming group anymore like it was years ago, it's still an informal collective that exists around Vinny. The only misconception is the fact that they are a proper team, but that itself shouldn't stop us from tagging them as an informal group (see Wikipedia).
