Looking for advice on making a personal danbooru

Me and a small group are trying to find a way to archive 4koma/fan comics of the game "Blue Archive". I figured there's probably no better place to ask than here.

The only thing danbooru is missing for us, is a good system for comics with many pages; it seems quite tedious to setup 20 child posts for a longer comic; also reading order is an issue.

I'm not an expert on this site so I was hoping someone could chime in and lmk if there's some feature for this, or if it's realistic for me to try to implement such a thing on my own copy of danbooru.

TLDR: Want to clone danbooru, need solutions for handling "comic" style posts with many pages.

The "issue" I'm trying to solve is as follows:
- most artists post into the void of twitter
- independent translators post as replies to those posts
- after a few weeks, both of them are basically unsearchable
- I cant find every good comic, otherwise I'd just save them locally

so basically just a niche danbooru

The issue also becomes bigger if dealing with a 20 page manga that has both a translated and original version, leading to 40 children posts.

The pools are better but not ideal

This has been a pain point for quite while already. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any functional solutions, so you'll likely have to come up with something yourself if you truly want it.

In short, pools should suck less, but it is not done yet.

What about uploading the comics to E-Hentai Galleries or MangaDex? Can't host them yourself, but they're probably more likely to stay running indefinitely as a public archive than your own personal server.

Only like 20% of fan created content are multi page, the rest are single page comics. So a booru solves most of my problems, but there's enough long-form content to cause an issue.

I mostly want to make my own because I want more control; i.e. content won't randomly disappear or get deleted. I think I can keep it going as a personal server because the scope is pretty niche, I just need the right "platform".

Even if danbooru.donmai approved all my posts, I would have difficulty getting other people to post onto an NSFW site.

tediousness of tagging each page individually aside, maybe this could be solved by letting people add tags to pools?
