I'm curious to why the tag pedophile, let alone the images are upon here if 'lolicon' and 'shotacon' are banned?

And what makes an image receive the pedophile tag?

Eh? They aren't banned.

The tags loli and shotacon are hidden for the sake of the advertisers, so they don't appear on pages viewed by regular member accounts that are ad-supported. It would make sense to add this tag to that list of tags to be hidden though.

As for use, I'd say it applies wherever creepy old men are featured in an appropriate context. It doesn't seem to be applied particularly uniformly though. Most citations seem to be related to textual references, which is pretty much counter to our "tag only what you see" policy.

I don 't think textual referencing is counter to the "tag only what you see" policy, given that if it's in the text it is visual and therefore can be seen. The moe tag for one is a tag defined by textual referencing.

There are a number of tags that are only applied when there's appropriate text in an image. It's still "tag what you see" because you see the text.

I guess that's true, though I very very rarely use tags such as moe. In any case, I guess that is made explicit in pedophile's wiki, so ignore what I said above and use that description for usage.
