Aliasing medabots -> medarots.

Reason: Meadrots is the Japanese name

After some research I'll say it's correct but I'm inclined to say no because it's just so dumb and clearly a misromanization.

Makes sense, just thought Danbooru prefers Japanese name over English names which made me make the suggestion

It does except in cases of clear misromanization. The japanese name is メダロット if someone wants to weigh in if this is not the correct way to moonify -bots.

The name is unquestionably "Medarots", which is stupid, but there you go.

Sounds like a really weird (bad) contraction of robots.

If you're going to go with the original Japanese version, then it's just Medarot - no plural. It's given in English in the show's opening (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=817Tgf3-g8w ), and the logo is the same for at least the third anime series, Medarot Damashii.
