An option to report user accounts?

Posted under General

Is there an option to report someone's account which is an obvious troll or someone evading a ban? There are a few users on Danbooru, for instance Kurayune with their comments, Justy and his countless sockpuppets and Girlymens with his bad uploads.

If there isn't one, how do we report someone's comments, sockpuppet accounts or bad uploads without having to resort to placing a negative record on their username or reporting the actual images that the user is posing?

Optimally dmail jxh or albert. If it's something requiring immediate action you can dmail an active janitor/mod (someone who had just approved something, you can see this via recent approvals.)

(emphasis mine)

Why would you want to? If they're acting in such a manner as you say, then they should, at least, get a negative rep for it.

Otherwise, yeah, what Log said - the mods need to know.

Thank you.

I have been doing that and giving them a negative rep, however I feel as if I could quite possibly be overdoing it. I only do it to comments or users that I feel deserve it for their childish comments.

Also FYI, I have IP address search capability now, and have some set on a recurring search so I can know within a day (or hours) or when a new account has regged under that IP and done whatever. But I only bother setting it up (well, "setting it up" really means I spend 15 seconds in updatescanner) for people who have been banned multiple times really.

And I only bother if they actually do anything under the account. I mean, sure someone could "get away with it" by regging a new account and then never doing anything that triggers their IP getting recorded in the search, but if they're not doing anything, then I honestly don't care if they're here or not. They're just like any lurker at that point and of no significance.

But neg records explaining who it's a sock puppet of (if you're certain) or PMing me to compare IPs (if you're not and there's something to compare) is entirely welcome. Like I said, I don't really bother unless it's someone obvious and repeated.

We use IP bans, but there's no such thing as a foolproof IP ban.

If they change it? Trolls don't last long. They get bored and move on pretty quickly, especially if you don't let them have the satisfaction of getting a reaction from you. I don't think we've ever needed to ban a range of IPs or anything like that.
