If it could be kept, I would like to keep flame to be from a single source, like a lighter or candle, and fire to be whenever there is fire.

Distinguishing flame and flames (currently fire) is not terribly clear so it'll be hard for tagger to tag instinctively. But it might be a legitimate idea... What we have to do in that case:

• Clean up the flame tag: remove flame, tag fire where appropriate.
• Tag all single flame with flame, including those under fire right now.
• Implicate flame -> fire.

The question I have, then, is what about cases like post #835908 could I count this as flame as well, even though its being magically produced?

When in doubt, tag both.
