brs -> black_rock_shooter
It's easier to type in the name of the character this way.
Edit: fixed the title

black_rock_shooter is the copyright, the character is black_rock_shooter_(character)
We usually use '/' for shortcut-type aliases, so how about:
/brs → black_rock_shooter
/brs_(char) → black_rock_shooter_(character)

Okay, I'll bite. Why did you expect Danbooru's system to consistent with Wikipedia's?
Because Wikipedia's system is more like a search engine that lets you visit a page without the need to learn a new form of syntax. If we had to type /brs, /laser, or /aol, then some people might be confused as to what they should be typing, since they are all abbreviations but some abbreviates are standard terminology.
yeah, it's just that most users don't know about the cheat sheet, tho I didn't even know about the / for shortcuts

BTW do we have a shortcut for the_legend_of_zelda and sonic_the_hedgehog?

You might want to clarify your position here. Anyways, the / is not part of that page.

No. There is no aliased or inferred shortcut for any keyword related to the legend of zelda, as can be seen from
I wanted bump this up for a suggestion.
Can the universe of Black Rock Shooter be called _(series) / _(world) / _(universe) and give Black Rock Shooter her name without _(character) added to it?
So far it has been a video / ova / game / figure etc. The same as Kirby_(series) and Kirby.

Be nice to unico guys, I like her[? him? it?].
If it's going for a non-Japanese word, as it is in this case, we'd use the word's spelling in its original language. Even if it's in hiragana.
As for renaming the character... Mmm, it seems like it would go against our policy of giving the copyright the base tag. See for example potemayo and... I know I had more examples but they're escaping me.
Or, was that our policy...? catherine is the opposite.
Okay I don't know if we have a policy.
I don't know about a policy, but I remember harry_james_potter being created to keep the copyright as harry_potter. So there's more than one instance of doing things that way.
