Google Translate is notoriously unreliable, especially for names.

For names you should be verifying with multiple sources, sure, but google translate's romanji conversion isn't half as bad as you two make it out to be.

The OP said absolutely nothing about artists.

Pity it's down, it was quite useful.

As for artist names, if you don't know any Japanese it's better to ask in forum #39382 to make sure you get the proper romanization.

unless danbooru accepts weeaboo-ish translation like "this is kawaii" or what-is-this-i-don't-even translation like "ransuu ya ruutin, denshi gijutsu, kikai gijutsu, tetsugakuteki hassou nado no sukoburu nankai na bunbutsu ya jishou nado no kotogara ni kan suru kaisetsu"

Series names? Character names? Not everyone has every damn character's name and appearance memorized.
