Australia, definitely. We've already proposed a filter here.

Wait wat, North Korea blocked safebooru to?

North Korea has 99.999% of the internet blocked. No, that's not an exaggeration.

I believe they don't even have internet outside the government offices.

You missed. Russia just blocked Danbooru by IP because of "child porn".

Wait what? So they actually decided on blocking us?? I heard that Sankaku is on the banned list, but I still can access it (though it lags like hell).

Yes. More specifically, they blocked 67.202.114.134 - you can get a dump of the registry with little searching. Meaning one of the mirrors still works - that is, until they "find" something from there as well. After that, it's only proxies and/or VPN.

Makes me wonder what the point of censoring loli/shota is if governments can decide any arbitrary image is 'child pornography'.

They would actually give up if the images were tagged as such and therefore censored from the regular and/or anonymous users. They would never pay, wait, sometimes not even register to find out if the page really contains something "bad". The worst thing is they didn't specifically look for those images - let's be frank, those aren't the worst they could find here. The thing is, as far as I know, they were practically spammed with questionable URLs by the small group of trolls, whose sole objective was to "watch the Russian animufags butthurt", despite being Russian animufags themselves.

This whole law is a profanation, a witch hunt - govs do it under the pretense of "defending children from harmful information that they can learn on the Internet". Yes, with gore in every newscast and central TV airing pro-criminal TV series at prime time, they ban schoolgirl hentai because it is child porn and harms children.
To do that, instead of making a whitelist and allowing parents to have "safe" Internet option at any ISP, they made a nation-wide blacklist, containing "harmful" URLs, domains and IP addresses, and forced the ISPs to ban any access to those URLs unless they want their licenses revoked. Formally, only the URLs should be blocked; however, it's easier, less expensive and much safer for ISPs to block IP address entirely. This practically results in carpet banning. They ban one .wikia.com website, and half of wikia is gone. They ban two cheap drug websites on godaddy, and God knows how many personal blogs and pages are down.
To make matters worse, the politicians who made that law be accepted can't see the difference between an URL and an IP. This seems like a bad joke, but it's true. Continuous warnings from Internet society and industry are thoroughly ignored; anyone trying to oppose is immediately labeled as a member of a "pedophile lobby" (this is also an actual quote, lol).

Sorry for the long post, but I'm too tired of this shit. We are two steps from official global censoring. Wish us luck.

This.
Truth is there is no single picture with child porn on this site. Arbitrary censoring of loli/shota tagged posts may only confirm wrong conviction it's the contrary. Conclusion: more and more big brothers are and will be using their arbitrary censorship to protect us from "child porn", for our own good of course.

Wasn't the reason for censoring because advertisers were dumping/threatening to dump over loli/shota? Gotta pay the bills. We could always have fast, reliable service with non-invasive ads, like gelbooru.

Maybe that was part of the reason in the past, but at the current point in time Danbooru doesn't have advertisers. Albert removed site ads 7 months ago.

As person from Korea, we never allowed pornography. Period.

Just because people watch it, doesn't mean sharing them is legal. It never was, and not sure if it will be any time in foreseeable future... As educated mass from the west, we'll have to just deal with it.

ISP does not have to follow up with block. Certainly, even if pornography is illegal, we still have Freedom of Speech law.

For that extended note, haii Gavotte and Schrobby :3

I wonder if adding a line that says that all depicted characters are 18+ is enough to stop loli censorship. They cant prove that they are not 18, so...

p.s. wondering if danbooru admins got any mail from .ru censors prior to blocking...

I don't think it works like that here in Russia. You know, when all this "protect our children" shitstorm started they even added Google to the blacklist. For a short time, but still.

A better line would be "all depicted characters are purely fictional and not based on any real-world adults or children".

That works only in America. And with very limited success. New Korean censorship law (yes, it's that blatant) prohibit any sexualization on media, particularly of ones that look like children. Punishment is same as those who share child pornography.

There is dark comedy out in Korea, saying "if you are going to get arrested for sharing anime, might as well commit rape too". CP sharing nets you 10 years. Rape is 15.

Its not like they care about anime or anything, they just need to restrict internet and make it look like they are working, so it might work. Never know until you try.

A better addition, the more - the better.

p.s. pornography is very profitable, so limiting/banning it is just an excuse to control internet.

Well, back in my home, we didn't really ban porn per se. We banned the distribution of it. Meaning, if somehow porn tripped, fell, and landed on your dick/pussy, it's not your fault. But if they catch you sharing it, even if for free, you'd be getting some jail time.

What a great ways to waste tax Won (Korean currency), in my opinion.
