Alternatively, move all posts under straw to drinking_straw, then alias straw -> hay.

It may be worth turning straw for single stems and hay for piles, e.g. post #1422210 and post #1396479.

I moved everything in straw to drinking_straw, and "straw" is open to be either a disambiguation tag or to refer to hay.

straw continues to get used for drinking_straw, despite the wiki. To avoid confusion I don't think straw should be used at all.

Some of the posts using that tag have to be updated by hand if that's the case. Before the update gets approved, that has to be done along with making it's wiki page a disambiguation.

I think creating a straw_(drinking) -> drinking_straw alias will resolve this issue without needing the tag migration. There was no way for users to know there was a different use for the straw tag, but this alias would appear through autocomplete as they type straw and lead them to pick the right tag. The current proposal doesn't resolve this problem, as typing the term will still not notify the users of the existence of a drinking_straw tag, so the misuse of the tag (or use of the tag after emptying it) will likely continue even if the migration and emptying the tag were to happen.
