Although Wham is named after the band "Wham!", his name is spelled in katakana as ワムウ (Wamuu), whereas the band is spelled ワム! (Wamu). They're not identical. In addition the official merchandise as well as the subtitles on the Blu-Rays of the anime also use "Wamuu" rather than "Wham".
