Reminds me of that one episode of Bonanza where Little Joe purchases a Winchester lever action with a bent barrel, on the idea that "it can shoot around corners"

It works but it also slows down the bullet considerably (to mere 300 meters per second), due to the high friction on the extension barrel. Though it didn't bothered the Germans since it was supposed to be used in short-range encounters only.

The gun was meant for Tankers as a solution to how check what is outside the tank without getting shot

Didn't the bullet also fracture by the time it left the barrel? Basically making it into a shotgun?
