The tag is inaccurate as the name of the character is Angel, not Ángel, no matter what language it is derived from. I suggest an angel_(king_of_fighters) tag or something similar.
Aside from that, is it okay to have a character like Á in the taglist? Might as well throw in some macrons while we're at it...
Not that I care one bit about this either way, but remember that it's common in text written on a computer to leave out things like accents due to technical limitations, so the fact that its left out in some screenshots really means very little.
Now, on the other hand, if you actually read the linked article, it points out that the name is Spanish. This is also evident from the fact that it's rendered in kana as "anheru", not "enjeru". Thus, the Spanish spelling is the correct one: Ángel.
I've said before that I realize the name is derived from the Spanish Ángel. But I've never seen any official art or in-game art that used the accent aigu. As long as we all know it's incorrect and we choose to use it anyway, that's fine. It becomes convention at that point.
My palm is on my face. You should know how unreliable the Japanese are with romanization; they have enough trouble with the 26 letters of English, diacritics would just break their minds. And the lame text encodings they cling to can't even represent accents, like WAHa noted.
The name of this character is not "derived" from Spanish: it's アンヘル, which is the Spanish word àngel written in katakana. Note that the transliteration アンヘル is not something they invented: it really is the standard transliteration of àngel (eg http://tinyurl.com/yozatp , http://tinyurl.com/ynm5xo). The correct way of writing that word in latin letters is "àngel". "Angel" is no more correct than all the engrish you see in games and official art.
Edited the tag back to Angel. Her name is Angel, KOF fans will search for Angel and there's no need to put Ángel. It's a name, so there's no need to add the accent.
My face is on my palm. Jumping in after an entire discussion and deciding on your own is extremely rude and will not be looked upon favourably. Not to mention that precisely because it's a name the spelling is fixed and not subject to your preferences, it's not just a random "accent".
I think Gargamuza has the right idea tho. We don't need linguistic accuracy. The tags are there to find pics easily. It's what sets Danbooru apart from other crappy image boards. We can actually find what we're looking for quickly thanks to the tag system, provided it's tagged in a way that fans of that character will spell it. I don't think I've ever seen the accent used in one of the games. If I did I just missed it.

Look, I didn't jump on this discussion, because I was the one who posted this image, So anyone arbitrarily editing tags is being the rude one. Even more rude you are for blocking me without discussing.
Moreover, the real name is Angel, not Ángel. So you calling me ignorant when you are the one who doesn't know the proper spelling is frankly outrageous.
Lastly, yeah, tagging isn't subject to preferences. That's why you accusing me of being arbitrary when I'm using the real name SNK gave to this character is completely ridiculous.
Why don't you do some research before acting like this? You are only achieving two things:
1- Going against people who want to contribute 2- Confuse people and fans of the game who know the character by its real name and not by the arbitrary spelling you want to put in. NOBODY calls her Ángel, not even SNK. Why do you think you have the right to arbitrarily use that spelling when it's clearly wrong, I don't know.
Seriously, you even reverted Angel_(KOF) and Angel_(King_of_fighters)! Do you really think before you do stuff like this or you just abuse your mod powers because you can and not to make this a good source of images? How do you expect KOF fans to find Angel pics when you spell her name wrong? Why do you think it has to be written Ángel because the character is Mexican? Did you think all this before blocking me? I thought you didn't.
So, give me a single good reason why we should be using Ángel, which is not only not the name of the character, will make it infinitely harder to Angel fans to find Angel pics because they will search by her real name, instead of just using her real name in addition to other tags like Angel_(KOF) and Angel_(King_of_Fighters).
Wtf... Ángel? If you really think that it's a spanish name.. well, Ángel does exist, it's a male name, and for girls, we have Angela, but the origin of the name is greek (ággelos/ ἄγγελος).
PD: it's not necessary to write it down with Á, many people encourage to do so but if you write Angel it's okay too. (If you are talking about spanish, of course).

Not true. Any Spanish speaker wil understand "ángel" whether you use an accent or not, but not using it is still bad Spanish.
