I believe existing here 5 years makes this fall within the category of "archived," and thus it shouldn't be flagged/deleted according to the rules...that I admittedly haven't reread in a couple months, and probably should.

There isn't a grandfather clause, in fact such a concept was explicitly prohibited.
You may notice a number of comparatively low quality art in Danbooru's permanent collection. These images are most likely to remain, for archival purposes. Many of the images that were approved during Danbooru's earlier years have a significantly lower quality standard than what is demanded now.
