Pretty sure it's based off one of the PC games, "Shinji Ikari Raising Project" or something, in it Hikari, Touji and Kensuke are fellow Eva pilots (although Hikari and Kensuke just pilot Massed Produced Eva's with sings around there necks IIRC)
