    ■訳:ムシフミuser/240758 »■この作品は数年前、鳥インフルエンザが流行している時、私が直接な想像で、事実の理屈も関わらず、自分の最も怖がっていることと、忘れられない気持ちを描いたものでした。

why is there a cruel tag on this? clipping wings usually protects pet birds like cockatiels or parakeets.

I aggre, I had a parrot some years ago, he had his wings cut off and this is not the only one who was in this case.

That may be cruel, but for a pet that seems normal in some pet shop (in my country anyway).

kinda too late but - let anyone put you into a space full of random, not always safe items (furniture, stoves), invisible walls (windows, other glass items) and let you run randomly trying to not hurt yourself.

Wing clipping is cruel, and can lead to serious injuries if done improperly (that's why it's done always by vets and experienced people), but can safe birds from hurting themselves in unfamilliar places full or unfamilliar things and also helps to tame our small friends.

This is the number one reason to do it. There are plenty of horror stories involving ceiling fans, other pets, and worst of all steam. Why is the last one a problem? Bird flies over a pot. Steam condenses onto feathers, which not only soaks but transfers heat to the bird. Bird gets startled mid flight, bird loses coordination... beloved pet falls into the pot. If your birds are not able to get their out time in a fully enclosed, bird-proofed room, for the love of god have your vet trim the primaries! Not the secondaries, the primaries!
