The real-life horse is noted for being mercurial and unpredictable. This is translated into her being spontaneous and rather eccentric. She is also noted for her relationship with Mejiro McQueen (Real-Life Gold Ship's damsire or maternal grandfather), often pranking her or carrying her into whatever she's planning. Even her Trainer. In the anime, she is the founding member of the current incarnation of Team Spica as well as it's odd member (Mejiro McQueen would have been the closest to her if it weren't for the presence of - and focus on - Tokai Teio) while in the mobile game, she's the second member of Team Sirius to join after McQueen.
Gold Ship is also the self-proclaimed PR manager of the Umamusume franchise and a virtual youtuber, active since March of 2018. As a popular character and her real-life lineage having some serious implications in the Uma-verse (for one thing, she would be related to the Mejiro family), she is often being portrayed as a aged down child, usually with her real-life birth colors (chestnut). Her hat is so distinctive that, especially prior to her alt skin's implementation, there are jokes that she becomes unrecognizable without it and people who wear it are confused with her.
