engineer boots
A type of work boots easily identified by their distinct stovepipe shape (derived from English riding boots), lack of laces, and two buckles, one at the top on the outside of the calf and one over the top of the foot at the crease of the ankle. Originally developed for railroad workers (hence "engineer"), they became popular with motorcyclists and are now heavily identified with biker culture (and similarly rebellious youth cultures, such as punk rock).
