friday (movie)
Friday is a 1995 Stoner comedy movie staring Ice Cube, Chris Tucker and John Witherspoon. The movie follows Craig Jones(Ice Cube) a slacker who recently got fired on Friday while helping his friend Smokey(Tucker) get money he owns to a drug dealer before a deadline while dealing with the neighborhood bully Deebo. Other characters include Willie Jones(Witherspoon), Craig's father and an avid food lover who tries to help his son in his own eccentric way.
The movie was a hit and remembered for many quotable dialogues like "Daaaaaammmmm!" and "Bye Felisha". The movie would later received two sequels, Next Friday in 2000 and Friday After Next in 2002 with Ice Cube and Witherspoon reprising their roles except Tucker, who no longer does movies that promote drugs after becoming religious, with the role of Craig's friend in the sequels being played by Mike Epps as Craig's cousin, Daymond "Day-Day" Jones. A fourth film titled Last Friday, is currently in the works.
