the legend of zelda: echoes of wisdom

The twenty-first installment in the Legend of Zelda series, released on September 26, 2024.

Announced in the June 18, 2024 Nintendo Direct (26:16 mark), it is the first mainline Zelda title to feature Princess Zelda herself and not Link as the main character. She previously was the protagonist in the Philips CD-i spin-offs Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon and Zelda's Adventure.

Her gameplay differs from that of Link's, per her association with the Triforce of Wisdom. The trailer shows her wielding a new staff, the Tri Rod, and making use of its powers, including making copies (Echoes) of objects and even enemies. She is accompanied on her journey by Tri.
