Ouestion: Is it possible to lose your builder status?

Posted under General

Thank you, I do my best to contribute whenever I have free time,
but this time, I think I made a [upload] mistake on the same caliber as when I created my account.

If getting my upload limit dropped by 5, 10, or even 15 won't demote me back to member,
I suppose I don't have to worry about it and can just work my way back up again.

Uploading bad art isn't against the rules in the same way that e.g. tag vandalism is. You don't need to worry about it. As long as you upload art in good faith, it shouldn't matter.

It does matter, though. Good faith only goes so far if you start racking up deletions. If your deletion count becomes noteworthy enough that other people start complaining, and it doesn't improve, especially if an admin gets on your case for it, demotion and even a ban can happen.

It is something that should be worried about at least a little, but a few hiccups here and there usually won't do much more than slow down your progress to unres or even approver. As long as it isn't something that becomes a consistent problem, you'll be fine.

That's what got me panicking.
I never upload bad art (on purpose) or troll art or anything like that.
Sometimes, I upload official art (in bulk) every now and then. I understand that this kind of art gets replaced by a better version,
but I'm pretty certain that this entire batch will be deleted simultaneously.
If I get demoted or banned (worst case scenario), I at least want to brace myself for impact.

Don't worry, admins seem usually okay with bad/decent arts being uploaded since they want more manpower to run the site.
If you're not uploading really bad art or literal stick figures, you should be fine.

No, that won't get you banned or demoted. You'll get in trouble for definitively bad art, you're not going to get punished (besides an upload limit hit) just because your official art uploads didn't get approved. No one's even going to say anything about it. Besides, it's only been half a day since you uploaded those, and they've only been reviewed by 2 or 3 approvers.

When I say a "consistent problem" I mean getting multiple flags/deletions over an extended period of time, to the degree that people start taking notice. People upload entire doujins at once that fail to get approved and no one bats an eye. It just happens sometimes.

Updated

In addition to what was already said by other users, I’d say that you’ll be fine as long as your uploads only get deleted for lack of interest. You should start getting worried if many of your uploads start racking up “poor quality” or “breaks rules” disapprovals.
