While I'm all for discouraging and reducing the number of pointless pools, it's convenient to get exactly what you want with a single click, based on what users put into the pool, isn't it? The number of pools existing shouldn't be an issue. Don't we want to give users less work to find popular topics, not more?

Yeah yeah, I'm a damned Touhou fan too.

My concern is over the "suspiciously searchable" nature of those pools. That is especially true when a pool is for a single character.

The rule is not to create any pool if it can be covered within 6 tags. You will have to contribute in someway or pay $20 to get the search privileged.

Well thats kinda...stupid. I don't think pools should be created unless its either a series consist of more then atleast half a page of comics/4komas(Counting...how about more then 6 or 8 strips/post? If that would be the case then we should consider looking over some pools like pool #744 and some other 3 post ones), its a uncommon search but there seems to be quite an amount but not enough that you will find immediately and if its actually important enough that it needs a pool(although this will probably vary.

If it was that easy to contribute and gain privalige then almost everybody would be able to gain the power to search with 3 tags by now. I think that contribute in someway to gain privalige is quite BS since its pretty impossible unless you're;
A)Moonspeak(Or just some other godly translator)
B)Computer genius and is willing to help the site i guess.
C)Knew somebody like the mods or whoever in the higher ups in real life or is just friends with them somehow
D)Is able to give every single tag a good, understandable, detailed and correct wiki (don't think this 1 work does it?)
E)Just awesome in someway. Awesome enough that people, especially the higher ups, will just look at you and think that guy is just awesome. I think I will have his child
As much as i love danbooru, I think just stick with my wonderful 2 tag search and wiki privilage.

Do we really need a pool for Mokou and Kaguya fighting? They're mortal enemies and even if people don't care for canon if you search just the 2 names or just go
either name of the character with fighting, battle, blood, death or some other such tags you're bound to see the two tearing each other's throats out. You can actually even just search that with 1 tag...well...not really but you get the point its not that hard to find and not that important or special that they should have their own pool.

If does two are able to get a pool then we might as well have a pool where you see both Cirno and Okuu or Cirno implying that she is the strongest or Cirno being implied that shes a (9). Making a pool just for tributes or something like that is just...pointless.

I don't quite understand this paragraph, but please read more older forum discussions or asking before stating our rule is stupid. You seem to be clueless about how we operate here. Pools, beside for comics, are used to express subjective opinions like "Badass" or "Perfect Breasts", these things cannot be tagged. Those that can be searched by tags are not legitimate. If you don't have the privilege to search for more than 2 tags, it's YOUR problem, not anyone else.

You can also contribute by gardening tags by the way.

- If you ask me, just push your luck, there's no need to create a forum like this, most of the pools are just spawning whether like it or not, that's why we have the "Pointless Pool" forum just to destroy all the useless pools in sight, if you ask me just do what I do, create a pool, add some posts, put some description related to the pool and let someone handle the rest, trust me many pools are develop on this way, My suggestion is kinda off topic, but hopes this helps...

That was the impression I had when I started getting into pools. It's a shame this forum turned out this way, I originally set this up just for fun.

Look, the pool was enjoyed by many users on this site. It did cover a vague idea that the tags wouldn't cover. Their conflicts can't be covered by searching their names and "battling" alone. There were many non-violent posts that would be categorized with completely different tags.

Also I've noticed that the pools are much more user friendly than the tags. With tags you have to be extremely specific when typing them in, while pools have a menu built in to make adding posts much easier. That makes a huge difference with new and inexperienced users, and that's something the administration should take note of.

Then what's the point in having this site? What would it's commercial value be then?

Commercial value? You just came up with that question to sound impressive.

The point of this site is to have a comprehensive and searchable index of high quality artwork, primarily originating from Japanese fanartists, focusing on Japanese anime, videogames and similar media.

Anyway, my comment was largely flippant, but the ultimate point is that we aren't interested in catering to people who can't or won't spend the time to learn how we do things here.

The site is pretty much not supposed to have a commercial value past being able to afford its own hosting. For several reasons, one being that it's not what it's about (it's about cataloguing art), and the other being that with copyright law being the clusterfuck it is, you really, really don't want anybody easily to be able to say that you make money on their stolen arts.

I agree with you here. But like I said earlier, this would be more useful as a tag than as a pool. This is a general concept and there's little reason to limit it to just these two characters.

Lol I just added that in there cause I assumed that if I just posted the first question alone somebody would've automatically responded with "This is a for-profit site". I was just trying to skip ahead in the dialog.

Ok I now have a better understanding of pools now, though I had to learn it the hard way. Would a "Neet Vs. Heat" tag be appropriate then? I think that it helps the humor that it always refers to the characters as "those two are at it again" like with Tom & Jerry. It also gives a better sense of "they're always getting back at each other" which would be much more difficult to do in a more generalized tag.

Mokou and Kaguya aren't the only characters that have a rivalry going on. It'd be better to have a tag that could be used for any post depicting a rivalry between two characters.

(you can edit your forum posts instead of posting x times in a row)

edit: like this. If a pool is decided against, then a tag for the same concept has little chance, especially if it is for exactly 2 characters. (like that MeiSaku pool rantuyetmai talked about)

Tags do need to be objective and generalized, not character specific. You've kind of got the wrong idea by coming up with a tag specific for Mokou and Kaguya - tags should be able to be applied for any character in the applicable situation. Your idea is exactly the same as a pool of the same concept.

I believe rivalry works best.
