Alias: boy != tagme

Posted under General

Is there any way to see which posts were initially tagged with boy/girl before the alias to tagme? At first I thought about suggesting that they be aliased or implicated to something like solo, but after going through about 3 dozen posts and the tag histories to see if there's a pattern of people using the tags on posts containing just one "boy" or "girl", I can't really tell.

I did notice that certain users with unmoderated uploads are quite the habitual tagme (and other non-descriptive/request tags) users, though, which is rather disconcerting.

No, sadly. Aliasing/implicating is destructive so it's definitely something we need to be careful about. Unless I'm totally wrong...

Anyway +1 to removing this awkward alias. Not quite sure what the boy and girl tag can be used for after that, I don't think aliasing it to character_request makes sense, solo makes a bit more sense in my opinion. Another option is to simply mark them as ambiguous.

It's because

People were using boy for male regardless of age, same when it came to the girls tag. There were not a lot of images because they were changed to male along with being marked as child. forum #61405

To me creating a tag young_male would work, since these tags exist - #boy, miniboy, *boy*

It seems it would clash with tags that already exist unless you make it specific.

You can use Google search (click) to narrow down the tag history.

Pretty sure these aliases are a million years old and therefore knowing this wouldn't be useful anyway.

We can remove it if people feel like watching out for it. It was obviously an issue at the time when the alias was put in place, if we don't believe it will be anymore then we can remove it.
